GENEVA — A 48-year-old Bolingbrook woman was killed Sunday evening when the motorcycle she was riding on hit a pickup truck at a Geneva intersection. On Monday morning, police identified the victim as Angela Tedesco of the 500 block of Emerson Circle.
At 5:57 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Kirk Road and Division Street, police said. Police said the driver of a 2002 gray GMC Sierra was making a u-turn near Kirk and Division. The motorcycle was heading south on Kirk and hit the truck, police said.
The driver of the motorcycle — Michael Tedesco, 50, 500 block of Emerson Circle, Bolingbrook — and Angela Tedesco were initially taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva for treatment of what police called “extensive injuries.” Angela Tedesco died less than two hours later at the hospital.
Michael Tedesco was later transferred to Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. A condition report was not available Monday.
The pickup truck driver, a 19-year-old Bartlett resident, was treated and released at the scene, police said.
On Monday, police said that neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the crash. Police had not yet determined the cause of the crash.
The Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and Geneva police investigated the crash. The northbound lanes of Kirk Road were shut down while police investigated.
