JOLIET — Soon after a man was one of the first to purchase a new style of designer gym shoes released Saturday, they were taken at gunpoint.
The holdup occurred around 2:55 a.m. outside an entrance at the Westfield Louis Joliet mall.
“The 20-year-old victim was in line with six juveniles when three black men waited in line with them for over an hour,” Cmdr. Brian Benton said. “Security left and then so did the suspects who returned a short time later with guns and robbed them.”
No one was injured.
