Here is a listing of area fireworks and events:

Bolingbrook: At 9:15 p.m. July 4, fireworks at the Bolingbrook Golf Club at 2001 Rodeo Drive. The event will begin at 1 p.m. and will feature a variety of family events. For more information, call the Bolingbrook Golf Club at 630-771-9400 or the city of Bolingbrook at 630-226-8400.

Channahon: At 9:15 p.m. July 4, fireworks will be at Community Park on West McClintock Road. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will feature decorations for children, dodgeball and music. Tickets to light the fireworks can be purchased. For more information, call Channahon Park District at 815-467-7275.

Frankfort: At dusk July 4, there will be fireworks at the Main Park on Nebraska Street. The event is sponsored by the Frankfort Park District and will feature activities 5-9 p.m. For more information, contact the district at 815-469-9400.

Joliet: At 9:15 p.m. July 4, fireworks and music will be featured at the Joliet Memorial Stadium near the Joliet Park District at 3000 W. Jefferson St. Gates will open at 6 p.m. and a short program featuring a drum and bugle corps will begin at 8 p.m. Admission is free. Note: Fireworks will not be held this year at Bicentennial Park in Joliet.

Lockport: At dusk Sunday, fireworks will be at Dellwood Park, 18th and Lawrence Avenue. The event will feature food vendors. For more information, call the city of Lockport at 815-838-0456.

Mokena

At 9:45 p.m. July 4, fireworks will be at the Mokena Park on Mokena Street. For more information, call the village of Mokena at 708-479-3900.

Morris

At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, fireworks will be at the Grundy County Fairgrounds on Route 47. The event will feature stock car races and Bruce Larson & The Rocky Mountain band. For more information, call 815-942-5958.

New Lenox

At 9:30 p.m. July 4, fireworks will be at the commons area at 1 Veterans Parkway. Admission is free. For more information, call the village of New Lenox at 815-462-6400.

Plainfield

Fireworks planned for Tuesday at Plainfield Central High School have been canceled due to dry conditions, the Plainfield Park District announced Thursday.

The district, fire department and police department made the joint decision as a safety precaution.

The district will work to reschedule the fireworks display.

The Patriotic Picnic portion of the event will continue as planned at 5 p.m. at Plainfield Central, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive.

Romeoville

At 9:15 p.m. Tuesday, fireworks will be at Village Park, 900 W. Romeo Road. The event will feature the Hat Guys band at 7 p.m. at the amphitheater, 1050 W. Romeo Road. There will be activities and food at Deer Crossing Park. For more information, contact the Romeoville Recreation Department at 815-886-6222.

Yorkville

At dusk July 4, fireworks will be shot off north of Club 47. They are best viewed from the vacant parking lot on Route 47 south of the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway. The event will feature the Yorkville Community Band at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. The event will be hosted by the Bristol-Kendall Fire Department.
