ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — A Manhattan woman was killed in a boating crash Monday on a Michigan lake.
Mary Srebro, 55, was on a pontoon boat in Lake Allegan, far from shore when the vessel collided with an open bow runabout towing an inflatable raft, according to a release from the Allegan County sheriff’s office.
Several people were thrown into the water, and other boaters were able to pull them out and get them to shore, the release said.
Srebro was one of two people on the pontoon boat when the crash happened about 3 p.m., the release said. Her husband, the boat’s driver, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
