I-55 bridge inspections set for Tuesday

CHANNAHON — The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that routine inspections of the Interstate 55 truss bridges over the Des Plaines River near Channahon are scheduled, weather permitting, for Tuesday.
The inspections will take place during the off-peak hours to minimize the impact to traffic, but delays should be anticipated on I-55 in both directions approaching the bridges.
The inspections are anticipated to last one day, occurring on the northbound bridge between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. and on the southbound bridge between 7 a.m. and 2 p.m.
