Slow-moving train, semi-tractor collide

CHANNAHON TOWNSHIP — A train and a semi-tractor collided at a spur crossing Monday afternoon.
Firefighters were called at 3:48 p.m. to the tracks on Durkee Road off the west frontage road of Interstate 55.
According to reports, a slow-moving train struck the truck and overturned it. One person was transported to receive medical attention, according to the Channahon Fire Protection District.
A Hazardous Materials team was called to the scene shortly before 5 p.m. for clean-up efforts.
