LOCKPORT — Three teens were arrested after they were allegedly spotted taking items from unlocked vehicles early Thursday.
Lt. Dave Draksler said a resident called police around 2 a.m. after he saw three men walking near Pine Creek and Spring View drives and one of them tried to open the door of a car parked outside.
Officers responded and reportedly found Charles J. Rose, 18, of 302 E. North St.; David Szwab, 19, of 13448 Maverick Trail in Homer Glen; and Nicholas J. Hernandez, 18, of 17964 S. Crystal Lake Drive in Mokena, walking nearby.
“Hernandez’s black Nissan Maxima was parked in the area and officers could see a laptop computer (inside) that they admitted was stolen,” Draksler said.
Police then reportedly found a stolen GPS unit, video camera, digital camera, iPod and phone in the trunk.
“They’d taken the items over the last week in Mokena, Homer Glen and Orland Park,” Draksler said. The three suspects were booked into the county jail on burglary charges.
