With dozens of gaming permit applications pending with the Illinois Gaming Board, video gambling became a reality Tuesday in the state. The law was passed in 2009. Profits have been earmarked to help fund a $31 billion construction program to fix schools, roads and other transportation projects. The terminals are allowed at licensed restaurants, taverns, truck stops, fraternal groups and other locations where alcohol is allowed.
