Town hall meeting
to discuss heroin epidemic

ROMEOVILLE — With heroin use among suburban youths and young adults reaching epidemic proportions, Will County Heroin Education Leads to Preventative Solutions, Valley View School District and the Romeoville Police Department will host a town hall meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Romeoville High School.

The forum will feature a variety of experts discussing the heroin problem and possible solutions.

A resource fair will be held at 6 p.m. prior to the meeting.

City council meeting rescheduled

LOCKPORT — The Lockport City Council meeting, which was to be held on Nov. 21, will be canceled and rescheduled to 7 p.m. Nov. 20 in the Central Square Building, 222 E. Ninth St.

Author to sign copies of book

PLAINFIELD — Writer Louise Brass will sign copies of her book, “Presenting Pauline; I was a dancer,” Wednesday, Nov. 14 from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the Gourmet Junction, 24030 West Lockport Street in downtown Plainfield.

The book is about Pauline Fraser, of Naperville, who entertained in London during World War II, and was asked by British Intelligence to catch spies.
