After buying gas, two men returned to rob a gas station late Monday in Plainfield.
Sgt. Kevin McQuaid said it was just before midnight when the suspects paid $5 to fill up a gas can they’d brought to Circle K, 11900 S. Route 59.
The pair returned and one pulled out a black semiautomatic handgun and demanded money from the register, McQuaid said.
The pair took cash and lottery tickets before running off to the west. No customers were inside at the time and the employee was not injured.
The armed suspect was described as a black man in his mid 20s.
He was 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighed 170 pounds.
He was wearing a black stocking cap, yellow shirt, black jacket, khaki pants and a white scarf across his face.
His accomplice was wearing a black cap and all black clothing.
He also was covering his face with a black scarf.
