Updated: December 13, 2012 10:19AM

Morris-area businesses and residents are encouraged to register to be part of the Home for the Holiday’s Annual Lighted Holiday Parade at 5 p.m. Nov. 23.

The entry deadline is Friday.

Applications may be obtained by calling the Morris Downtown Development Partnership office at 815-941-0245 or downloading from the website, www.downtownmorris.com/home_for_the_holidays.htm .

The parade committee requests that all entries be decorated with lights, and that those in walking units dress in holiday colors.

The new lineup area for the parade will be Franklin Street from Illinois Avenue to Washington Street and the county parking lot behind the courthouse.

This year’s parade will begin at the corner of Franklin and Washington streets and continue north on Liberty Street. The parade will conclude at Chapin Park, where trophies will be awarded and the beautiful lights of the park will be turned on.
