Updated: December 15, 2012 6:13AM

PLAINFIELD — Police say a robber attempted to kidnap a woman in Plainfield and steal her car Tuesday.

The incident occurred about 4:23 a.m. when the victim was getting into her vehicle in the 16300 block of Fairfield Drive.

According to reports, Erin E. Davis, 19, came up and pushed her inside the vehicle before attempting to drive away. The woman struggled with Davis who fled when a neighbor intervened, police said.

Plainfield and Joliet police dogs reportedly tracked Davis to a backyard on Plainsman Circle. He lives at 16941 Plainsman Circle.

Davis was arrested on charges of aggravated vehicular hijacking, kidnapping, armed robbery, aggravated battery and aggravated assault.

Two men arrested after break-in at apartment

LOCKPORT — Two men were arrested after allegedly breaking into a Lockport woman’s apartment while she was sleeping Saturday.

Acting Chief Dave Draksler said the incident occurred around 11:30 p.m. in the 500 block of South State Street.

The victim was awakened by the sound of someone breaking into her apartment through the front door, he said.

She stayed in bed and pretended to be asleep while two men took a DVD player, receiver, speakers and a Bulls sign, Draksler said.

The 26-year-old victim called police and said she recognized a 17-year-old suspect, “from partying with him the night before.”

The 17-year-old and James Brunette, 21, were located by officers in the same block with the stolen property.

They reportedly admitted to the break-in and told police they were looking for $30 they gave the victim to buy pills.

Brunette, of 501 N. Broadway in Joliet, and the 17-year-old were booked into the county jail on charges of residential burglary.
