SHOREWOOD — Police recovered four pounds of marijuana and 68 plants estimated at $200,000 after executing a search warrant Tuesday morning.

Bond was set at $50,000 in Will County Court on Wednesday afternoon for Anthony S. James, 42, 815 Richards Drive, on charges of production of marijuana, manufacturing and delivery of marijuana and manufacturing and delivery of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

Sgt. Jason Barten said Shorewood police, the Drug Enforcement Administration and Plainfield police arrested James in his home after recovering the marijuana and plants from the home’s basement.

This drug investigation lasted a few weeks, Barten said, noting that police moved quickly given the home’s proximity to two grade schools.

Before this arrest, James only had a minor criminal history, Barten said.

James is due in court again Dec. 19.
