Police investigating Joliet man shot to death Christmas morning

JOLIET -- A Joliet man was shot dead early Christmas morning.
Clifton T. Williams, of Joliet, was apparently shot on Spruce Slip Street in Joliet and was declared dead about 3:40 a.m., according to the Will County Coroner’s office.
Spruce Slip Street is a one-block street that runs east-west off South Chicago Avenue just north of 4th Avenue.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday, according to the coroner’s office.
Joliet police are investigating, but were not available for comment Tuesday night.
