JOLIET — Police arrested a 35-year-old Joliet man Saturday on multiple felony sexual assault and child pornography charges.
Jason D. Hagerstrom of 1226 N. Raynor was booked into the county jail on two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault, eight counts of criminal sexual assault, five counts of aggravated child pornography and two misdemeanor battery charges.
According to a news release issued Sunday by Police Chief Michael Trafton, Hagerstrom committed the offenses over a 10- to 12-year period. The offenses involved a juvenile victim, he said.
Trafton said because of the sensitive nature of the offenses and to protect the victim, no information on the victim would be released.
“The investigation is ongoing and much work still needs to be completed,” he said.
More charges are expected. The Will County State’s Attorney’s office aided Joliet police in their investigation with search warrants and approval of charges, Trafton said.
Hagerstrom is due to appear in bond court at 1:30 p.m. Monday.
