Do you think Illinois lawmakers will solve the state pension crisis?

Updated: January 4, 2013 6:32PM

Gov. Pat Quinn told reporters Friday that House Speaker Michael Madigan has agreed to “defer” his demand that suburban and Downstate school districts pay more toward teacher retirement as part of any pension reform legislation.

Quinn characterized Madigan’s move as a “breakthrough” in efforts to approve pension funding legislation before the General Assembly’s lame-duck session ends Tuesday. Do you think Illinois lawmakers will solve the state pension crisis?
