SHOREWOOD — A two-story house suffered “extensive damage” from a fire Sunday night, but no injuries were reported.
Troy Fire Chief Steve Engledow said occupants were home at 7:12 p.m. when the blaze was reported at 802 Abbeywood Drive, but people and pets were able to escape before crews arrived.
Engledow said firefighters were at the scene for about two hours. The cause of the fire had not been determined Sunday night but it does not appear suspicious.
Firefighters from Channahon, Coal City, East Joliet, Joliet, Lockport Township, Manhattan, Minooka, Plainfield and Wilmington assisted Troy in putting the fire out.
The occupants planned to stay with friends in the neighborhood overnight, Engledow said.
