Romeoville mayor contest down to two candidates

Fred Dewald pulled out of the Romeoville mayor’s race on Thursday.
His departure leaves the April 9 election a two-candidate contest between Mayor John Noak and former Bears player Steve McMichael
Dewald was the mayor of Romeoville before he resigned in 2008 and was replaced by Noak, who was a village trustee at time.
McMichael is making his first run for public office after establishing residency by renting an apartment in Romeoville a year ago.
