SHOREWOOD — A 70-year-old man was killed Thursday night when his car overturned on a frontage road.
Troy Fire Protection District Chief Steve Engledow said the Mini Cooper driven by Robert Gewalt rolled over several times, and “he had to be extricated, but he was dead on arrival at Saint Joseph Medical Center.”
Engledow said the single-vehicle crash occurred about 7:20 p.m. as the car was on a westbound Interstate 55 frontage road, north of Interstate 80 in front of the Heartland Corporate Center.
Gewalt resided off that frontage road, authorities said.
