JOLIET — An apartment building fire Saturday morning in Joliet sent one person to the hospital, fire officials said.
Joliet Fire Ballation Chief Terry Magnun said firefighters were called to the house, which was converted into four apartments, about 10 a.m. The fire was put out within 30 minutes.
Magnun said the second floor of the structure was heavily damaged by fire and the first floor had water damage. A man who lived at the building was sent to Presence Saint Joseph Medical Center to be treated for smoke inhalation.
Magnun said the cause of the fire was under investigation and it started in a second-story apartment. The building is uninhabitable.
