The parolee accused of shooting a man in the neck outside a gas station early Saturday in Joliet has been arrested after three days on the lam.

Police Chief Mike Trafton said Anthony White was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon in South Bend, Ind.

Around 3 a.m. Saturday, a 31-year-old man was inside Citgo, 379 S. Chicago St., where he got into an argument with another customer.

When the man walked out to the parking lot, he was jumped by a group of men and beaten before White took out a handgun and shot him in the throat, Trafton said.

The victim has been listed in critical condition at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood and could be paralyzed from his wound, according to reports.

Trafton said witnesses identified White, 24, and Gregory A. Sellers, 24, as two of the attackers.

An arrest warrant charging White with attempted murder was issued Saturday afternoon and carries a $2 million bond. He is currently on parole for shooting another man directly across the street from the same gas station five years ago.

Sellers is still being sought on charges of aggravated battery and mob action and faces a $500,000 bond.

Sellers is also on parole for shooting a man in December 2006.

Anyone with information on Sellers’ whereabouts is asked to call Joliet police detectives at 815-724-3020 or anonymously call CrimeStoppers at 800-323-6734.
