A drug investigation reportedly led to New Lenox police finding sexually explicit photos of an underage girl on an alleged dealer’s cell phone.
Sgt. Louis Alessandrini said Michael P. McGrath, 22, had been the subject of a narcotics investigation when police used a search warrant Friday to enter his house at 130 Terry Ellen Lane.
Officers found several grams of cocaine and took McGrath into custody for questioning, Alessandrini said.
“While he was released pending further investigation, his cell phone was searched and detectives found some sexually explicit photographs of a teenage girl on the phone,” he said.
Investigators reportedly discovered the girl was in a “dating-type relationship” with McGrath. Alessandrini declined to provide her exact age, but confirmed she was interviewed and said most of the photos were taken in Tinley Park, where McGrath previously lived.
Alessandrini said police searched McGrath’s home again with another warrant Tuesday night and confiscated some electronic devices.
“They also found cannabis in the house this time,” he added.
McGrath was booked into the county jail on charges of child pornography, delivery of drugs, drug possession and marijuana possession.
