After crash near Joliet, I-80 lanes now open

A serious crash involving two semi trucks Thursday afternoon closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Joliet through the evening rush hour, with most traffic being re-routed to the shoulder lane.
As of 8 p.m., all lanes were reopened, Illinois State Police said.
Two semi trucks crashed on I-80 at Briggs Street about 1:15 p.m., police said.
The crash was described as a “serious personal injury crash,” but the extent of the injuries was not immediately available, police said.
