A man who is facing charges of attempted murder and aggravated battery related to a shooting in February is back in custody after missing an earlier court appearance.
Anthony White, 24, was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear on March 1. A judge denied him bail and White is next due at the Will County Courthouse on Monday.
According to police, an attempted murder and aggravated battery warrant was issued for White on Feb. 9. That day, a 31-year-old man was inside Citgo, 379 S. Chicago St., where he got into an argument with another customer.
When the man walked out to the parking lot, he was jumped by a group of men and beaten before White took out a handgun and shot him in the throat, police said.
White was arrested three days later in South Bend, Ind. After posting bond, he missed a subsequent court date and a failure to appear warrant was put out for his arrest.
White is currently on parole for shooting another man directly across the street from the same gas station five years ago.
