An expected winter storm has canceled Tuesday’s weather preparedness workshop in New Lenox.
Heavy snow is expected in the area and the National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning.
“Unfortunately, we can’t recommend that folks not travel during this time and then expect they attend our event,” Public Safety Division Chief Dan Martin said well aware of the irony.
“There’s no one more disappointed than I, but obviously this is beyond everyone’s control as well as in the interest of public safety,” he said.
About 50 organizations were planning to share health, safety, fitness, preparedness and emergency response information to residents at Lincoln-Way West High School.
