Bolingbrook police have arrested a 20-year-old man who allegedly tried grabbing two high school girls in January.

Kareem L. Green, of 505 Preston Drive, has been charged with unlawful restraint and battery, jail records show.

Around 3:20 p.m. Jan. 29, a 16-year-old was walking home from Bolingbrook High School when a man tried forcing her into a Ford Explorer at Radcliff Drive and Old Stone Road.

A passer-by saw the struggle and yelled at the attacker, who then ran away, police said.

Two days later, another 16-year-old student was returning home when she was grabbed from behind in the second-floor hallway of an apartment building in the 300 block of Woodcreek Drive.

She also struggled with her attacker who ran off toward Plimmer Park.

Lt. Mike Rompa said both victims and a witness identified Green, who was taken into custody by police Tuesday afternoon.
