She took sixth place in the 400-meter dash at the Class 3A state meet last season. Moody, a senior, is a two-time sectional champ in the 400.
When did the 400 become your best event?
I was running more 100s and 200s and relays my freshman year and I used to high jump. Then I started prevailing in the 400 meters. I think 56.84 (seconds) is my best time.
Do you have a goal time this year?
I’m trying to go 55. Under 55 would be best.
What do you want to accomplish this season?
I want to get top five in state this year because I was top six last year at state finals. I’m going to try and qualify in the 100 and 200.
Do you have a sibling who looks up to you?
My little brother, Brett, is in track. He’s more of a thrower. I know he does look up to me because he wants to be good, too.
Who’s the one person, living or deceased, you’d like to meet?
It’d be cool to meet Usain Bolt, because he’s faster than anybody in the world and I like to run fast.
Who would be your celebrity prom date?
Favorite sports team?
The Bears and Blackhawks. I like the White Sox a lot, too.
I like rap. I like electric dance music.
What will you remember most about high school?
Being able to go downstate and get closer with a lot of girls from the track team, to spend time with my coaches outside of the school scene. It was fun to see the real side of everyone.
