Police blotter: Joliet man arrested after burglary

JOLIET — Police reportedly recovered jewelry and made one arrest after three men were seen breaking into a house Sunday.
Neighbors called police around 11:30 a.m. to the 400 block of Second Avenue, Lt. Ed Gregory said, While a responding officer was approaching down the alley in the next block, he allegedly saw Deandre M. Davis, 18, and two other men walk out of the backyard.
“As they came towards him, he saw Davis was carrying items (from the house). When he told them to stop, the three suspects separated and took off running,” Gregory said.
As the officer followed Davis, the suspect reportedly dropped jewelry, his cell phone and a bag of cannabis, before he was caught trying to hide other items under a car parked in the 500 block of Second Avenue,
A canine unit tracked the other men, but did not locate them. Davis, of 118 Osgood St., was booked into the county jail on charges of residential burglary and cannabis possession.
Pool damaged in Coal City
COAL CITY — Information about an incident of criminal damage in Coal City is being sought by Crimestoppers of Grundy County.
Sometime in December, an above-ground pool at 421 Virginia St. was damaged. The pool liner and wall were cut in several places, draining all the water.

No one was injured when fire damaged a townhouse around 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 16700 block of Hazelwood Drive in Plainfield.
East Joliet firefighters put out a fire in an attached garage around 6:30 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Elmwood Lane.

Jaime Caraballo: 40, of 211 N. Eastern Ave. in Joliet, was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Friday on charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and indecent exposure.
Dwayne C. Hubbard: 36, of Merrillville, Ind., was arrested by sheriff’s police and booked into the county jail Friday on a charge of driving on a suspended license.
