FORCES program offered

Financial services firm Edward Jones is offering a program for military veterans that features enhanced training and also meets federal requirements for on-the-job training under the G.I. Bill.

financial services background but possess the skills and qualities that would make

Care packages assembled

Members of the Three Rivers Association of Realtors recently donated their time to help package gifts for service men and women who are stationed overseas. Realtors from the area partnered with Operation MOM’S Cookies to assemble care packages.

Founder Debbie Trippiedi presented association President Grant Chignoli with a plaque thanking the group for its monetary donation and volunteer time at the Wilmington facility.

Plainfield restaurant feted

PLAINFIELD — Moe Joe’s Cajun and Caribbean Cuisine, 24033 W. Lockport Road, recently was featured on “Chicago’s Best Southwest Suburbs.” The WGN/CLTV show featured the downtown Plainfield restaurant’s gumbo, jambalaya, fried alligator and jerk chicken wings. JOLIET — Moo & Oink products are available at Certified in Joliet, 118 E. Jackson St. The Chicago brand was thought to be gone forever after last year’s bankruptcy of the Moo & Oink grocery stores. Best Chicago Meat Co. LLC purchased the Moo & Oink brand in December 2011.

Signs By Tomorrow honored

PLAINFIELD — State Rep. Tom Cross, R-Oswego, and his Ovation to Business Advisory Committee presented the Ovation to Business award to Signs By Tomorrow, 16200 S. Lincoln Highway, Plainfield. The business, owned by Jim and Jodi Murray, was recognized for continued growth over five years and community service.
