JOLIET — Provena Saint Joseph Medical Center welcomed a new member to its board of directors — the Rev. Craig M. Herr.

“Rev. Herr adds another dimension to our board of directors. His ethical and sound organizational perspectives will add even greater depth to our experienced, diverse and talented board,” said Lyndean Brick, chairman of the board.

Herr is the senior pastor at the First Presbyterian Church of Joliet, a position he has held for the past 23 years.

He also is an adjunct instructor at Lewis University, where he teaches organizational leadership, conflict management, critical thinking and ethics.

Herr also has been an adjunct professor at the McCormick Theological Seminary, where he taught church revitalization and multiple staff ministry.

He serves as a director for the Will County Chamber and Center of Economic Development. He is the chair of the Will County Cares Initiative, and he has chaired the Workforce and Education Committee.
