CREST HILL — New Uses, The Resale Home Store, will open Saturday at 1701 N. Larkin Ave., in the Hillcrest Shopping Center.

No fee at Curves

Curves fitness clubs are waiving the fee to join from Monday through Oct. 14 for new members who show proof of a mammogram performed within the last year or who donate $25 to The American Cancer Society. Glass art demonstration

JOLIET — Artist Sue Regis will demonstrate blown glass art at The Department Restaurant and Liquor Lounge from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday. She free demonstration will be accompanied by a live acoustic performance.

Physical therapist opens

JOLIET — Athletico Physical Therapy has opened at 2793 Black Road. It offers physical therapy, sports medicine, work rehabilitation, work conditioning, functional capacity evaluations, video gait analysis and video throwing analysis. Lynn Stefanich-Bigelow of Joliet is the regional manager. Physical therapist Matt Mickas will serve as the facility manager.

Sewer service anniversary

JOLIET — R&R Septic and Sewer Service at 24451 Black Road is celebrating 35 years in business. Brothers Brian and Mark Ratkovich opened the business in 1978. The company has grown from septic pumping and small repairs to new septic/sewer/water line installations, sewer rodding and televising, hydro-jetting, combination jet-vac cleaning, ejector/sump pump installation, mechanical system service contracts and smoke testing. The company’s motto is: “We’re #1 in a #2 Business.”
