JOLIET — Bill Jacobs Joliet has been selected as the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce’s Business of the Year. The award will be presented during the chamber’s annual dinner on Nov. 5 at Syl’s 150 West Banquet Hall.

Other award recipients who will be honored at the event include Financial Services Award, Sentinus; Professional Business Services Award, Advanced Urology Associates; Retail Award, Conrad’s Harley-Davidson; Social Services Award, Easter Seals Joliet Region Inc.; Education Award, Rockdale School District; Lifetime Achievement Award, Paul Pawlak, Silver Cross Hospital, and Michael Vinciguerra, University of St. Francis. New role at Chase for Temper

Lindsey Temper, a native of Shorewood and graduate of Minooka High School, was named a national sales trainer for Chase Bank in Chicago.

She attended Bradley University in Peoria, where she began working at a Chase Bank in a Kroger’s grocery store until graduation in 2005. After graduation, Temper worked and managed Chase Banks in Minooka, Channahon, New Lenox and Naperville. In 2006, she transferred to New York as a sales manager of a Chase Bank.

She returned to Morris to work as manager of the Chase Bank there. While there, Temper earned her master’s degreee from Illinois Benedictine. Later, she was tranferred to California.

Hollywood Casino
helping raise funds
for breast cancer research

JOLIET — Hollywood Casino Joliet has teamed up with American Cancer Society Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Joliet to raise funds for breast cancer research. The casino will host a “play for a cause” event on Oct. 28 and donate a penny for every point earned that gaming day. Also, guest donations will be accepted all month long via a collection box placed in the casino’s pavilion.

New RE/MAX office

MORRIS — RE/MAX Top Properties has a new office at 101 Waverly St. The company, which has been serving the Morris area for six years, has 14 agents working in the 2,300-square-foot space. Tana Nordaker is the co-broker/owner; Vicki Geiger is managing broker/owner.
