Users reported trouble using Gmail, the Google email service, Monday, and Google confirmed that some services had been disrupted. It said the issues had been addressed by afternoon.
“The problem with Google Mail should be resolved,” the company posted on its apps service website. “We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and continued support. Please rest assured that system reliability is a top priority at Google, and we are making continuous improvements to make our systems better.”
Gmail users took to Twitter to ask whether Gmail and related services, such as the Google Drive document sharing service and Google Plus, were experiencing an outage. The analytics site Topsy reported 83,000 Twitter mentions of gmail problems at one point Monday morning.
