Business Briefs: Workforce Services adds job search workshops

JOLIET — Workforce Services Division of Will County has added an online application workshop and a LinkedIn Lab to its monthly lineup of programs.
How to Complete Online Applications will be offered at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 26. The LinkedIn Lab will be offered from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 24. Participants should have a basic LinkedIn account.
Also, the Career Café will meet at 10:30 a.m. each Tuesday in September. Career Café is a networking event designed to connect people looking for work.
Other workshops offered include interviewing techniques, standout resumes, job search skills and networking your way to a new job. All workshops will be held on the fourth floor of the Joliet Junior College City Center Campus building, 214 N. Ottawa St., and are offered at no cost for Will County residents. New HQ in Joliet
Defensive Services International has relocated its international headquarters from Arizona to Joliet to join forces with TM Martial Arts.
The partnership allows DSI to offer a full schedule of daily classes, a variety of clinics and seminars, specialized training for police agencies, martial arts education for school owners and instructor certification courses in different subjects of scientific self-defense.
DSI has more than 200 affiliated branches in 15 countries. It was founded and is headed by Grandmaster John Pellegrini. TM Martial Arts academy, 3101 Theodore St., Joliet, is owned and operated by Master Tim Harrison.
