JOLIET — Joliet native Sandra Fleck has been chosen as 2013 Young Professional of the Year by the Joliet Area Young Professionals organization. Fleck will be honored during JAYP’s annual dinner, which begins at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 18 at the Joliet Country Club, 1009 Spencer Road. Online registration is open until Nov. 13 at events.jolietchamber.com. Tickets cost $30.
Fleck, a mother of two, is a senior vice president and market leader for Heartland Bank and Trust Company. She is involved with Guardian Angel Services, the Rialto Foundation board, Council for Working Women, Parent Advisory Council for Troy Craughwell School. She also co-founded the Pink Heals Joliet Area Chapter with her husband, Matt, a Joliet firefighter.
First Community Financial Bank appoints Schaefer as new senior VP
PLAINFIELD — First Community Financial Bank has appointed Greg Schaefer, 56, as its new senior vice president and market president in Plainfield.
“Greg brings 34 years of experience in commercial banking and relationship management to First Community and is very well known in the Joliet and Plainfield communities,” said CEO Roy Thygesen. Schaefer has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. He went on to study at the Independent Bankers School at Southern Illinois, Carbondale, and the American Bankers Association Commercial Lending School in Norman, Okla.
Schaefer has been actively involved in the Plainfield Lions Club for many years and has served the club as treasurer for the past four years. He has served on the Village of Plainfield Advisory Task Force on Economic Development since its formation in 2010.

Also, interviewing skills, 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday and Nov. 21; networking business cards, 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday.
