Updated: June 4, 2012 11:40AM

OSWEGO — Wine on the Fox will welcome 20 wineries from across Illinois to the banks of the Fox River in downtown Oswego this weekend.

The event has expanded to two days this year, with wine tasting packages that include a souvenir wine glass and 10 tasting tickets — five each day — for $25. Single-day packages are also available for $15.

Entertainment will include a mix of country, rock and cover bands, featuring Trio, Jeff LaMarre & Kurt Schoenfielder, Jin and Tonic Band, How Far to Austin, JoBu, Ring Tone and the Lisa Rene Band.

Fox Valley Winery in Oswego is the host winery for the event, which is presented by the village of Oswego, the Oswego Tourism Bureau and the Oswegoland Park District. John Deere dealer Hogan Walker and Oswego-based Weblinx Inc. are sponsoring the event.

Wine on the Fox is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at the riverside Hudson Crossing Park, at Washington and Hudson Streets. The event is free and open to all ages, but festival-goers must be 21 to taste wines.

A designated driver tent sponsored by the Rotary Club of Oswego will offer free non-alcohol drinks.
