Here is a look at entertainment news in the region.

Items include “Chicago’s Best” filming at a Joliet restaurant and the Chorus of DuPage hosting an open house in Naperville.

‘Chicago’s Best’ filming at Joliet restaurant

WGN’s “Chicago’s Best” was scheduled to visit The Department Restaurant and Liquor Lounge to tape a segment from 10 a.m. to noon May 8 in Joliet.

The program searches out the best foods in the Chicagoland area and will feature the restaurant’s Cajun ribeye and Department Chicken dishes. The Department will remain open during the taping.

A viewing party will take place at 9 p.m. May 27. Free appetizers and drink specials will be offered to customers as they watch the show.

Men’s chorus hosts an open house

The Chorus of DuPage, a men’s barbershop chorus, will host a guest night from 7 to 9:30 p.m. May 15 at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in Naperville.

The chorus is looking for both new and experienced male singers who want to learn more about barbershop music and the activities of the group, which performs throughout the Chicagoland area. The choir’s repertoire includes special arrangements of popular music, show tunes, hymns, patriotic songs and old-time barbershop favorites.
