Kindergarten registration
FRANKFORT — Summit Hill School District’s kindergarten registration drive continues.
Parents may access the Summit Hill website at www.summithill.org to review the checklist of documents needed for registration. Parents may register their child at the District Administrative Center, at 20100 S. Spruce Drive.
Parents will need to present an official birth certificate with a certification seal from the county. Students must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1.
If applicable, proof of legal custody would include presentation of a court order or decree for legal guardianship; proof of legal custody through public aid documents; or proof of foster care.
Kindergarten roundup
LOCKPORT — Taft School District kindergarten roundup will be at 2:30 p.m. April 20 in the auditorium at 1605 Washington St.
Registration packets will be available for pickup. At the time of registration, bring your child’s original birth certificate and three proofs of residency, such as a lease or mortgage, utility bills and/or insurance bills. Families must reside within Taft School District boundaries. Children must be 5 years old before Sept. 1st to be eligible to enter kindergarten.
The fee is $90. Call the school office at 815-838-0408.
Sign up kindergartners
JOLIET — Joliet Grade School District will host kindergarten registration from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 4 at all elementary schools. Any child who will be 5 on or before Sept. 1 is eligible to register. Three proofs of residency, a state-issued birth certificate and the child’s social security card are required.
Parents who live in the Carl Sandburg Elementary School area should register at Thomas Jefferson School, 2651 Glenwood Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. April 30 through May 4 or 6-7 p.m. May 3.
Parents who live in the Forest Park area but whose children will not be attending Forest Park School are asked to report to the J.F. Kennedy Administrative Center, at 420 N. Raynor Ave. If Forest Park area parents have children who already attend a district school, they may enroll their kindergarten student at that school.
