Employment ministry has job coaches
PLAINFIELD — The St. Mary Immaculate Employment Ministry invites participants to meet with its coaches (each an experienced hiring manager) to get resumes and handbills reviewed, develop networking and interviewing skills or talk about spiritual, emotional or other social service help needs.
The session will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the church, 15629 S, Route 59. An introduction to networking starts at 6:30 p.m.

Church to screen DVD on archbishop
PLAINFIELD — Deacon Tom O’Connell will host a viewing of a DVD on the life and ministry of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen at 7 p.m. Tuesday in St. Mary Immaculate’s Cana Hall West, 15629 S. Route 59.
In May 2011, a two-volume “position” paper describing why Sheen should be considered for beatification and canonization was presented to Pope Benedict XVI.

Why do Catholics Honor Mary?
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 127 S. Briggs St. (one-half mile north of I80) Joliet will host a presentation and discussion entitled “Why do Catholics Honor Mary?” from 8-9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Taken from Fr. Robert Barron’s “Catholicism” series, the session will provide an overview of the historic place of Mary, Mother of Jesus.

Church hosting Taize service
JOLIET — St. Edward’s and Episcopal Christ Church will present its annual Easter Season Taize Service of Healing at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Edward’s Campus, corner of Midland and Campbell streets.
The Taize service is distinguished by beautiful music, silent meditation, prayer and laying on of hands for healing. There is no homily, Eucharist or offering taken at any Taize service.
Group to study The Book of Revelation
PLAINFIELD — Anita Besch and David Fiday will host a 10-week study of The Book of Revelation as detailed in the Navarre Commentary. This study debunks current notions in society and the press and correctly informs Catholics about the truth of one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible.
Sessions will be from 7:30-9 p.m. Wednesdays, June 6 to Aug. 22, in the St. Mary Immaculate Parish Stewardship Room, 15629 S. Route 59. Cost is $18 for book.
