Summer reading program

JOLIET — From June through July 28, the public is invited to read books for fun, attend free programs and submit reading logs for a chance to receive prizes that include coupons, books, gift cards, gift baskets and electronics at the Joliet Public Library.

Children from birth to sixth grade must fill out and turn in a reading log beginning June 4 to be registered. Children who turn in at least one log before June 20 will receive tickets to attend the Hawaiian Block Party. Children who turn in four or more logs will receive a free paperback book and tickets to a private Splash Station party.

Students in grades 6-12 can register for the Teen Summer Reading Program by visiting www.tinyurl.com/jplsummer.

Adults can register by reading three books then filling out and turning in a reading log at the circulation desk. Readers will be automatically entered in a bi-weekly drawing for prize baskets valued at $50.

Logs for all three groups can be picked up and turned in at the appropriate department at either the Main Library, 150 N. Ottawa St., or the Black Road Branch, 3395 Black Road.
