School hosting sewing camps

MINOOKA — Minooka High School will host two summer sewing camps for children ages 9-12.

Camps will run from 9:30 a.m. to noon June 18-21 and June 25-28 at the South Campus in Channahon.

By the conclusion of each camp, participants will have completed five different projects. All supplies and equipment are provided as part of camp registration.

The registration fee is $75. All registrations are due on or before Friday. Online registration is necessary and can be done at www.mchs.net and clicking on the link to “Web Store.”

Teen to attend NRA summit

PLAINFIELD — Plainfield North High School junior Peter Dykhuizen was selected to participate in the National Rifle Association’s annual Youth Education Summit this summer in Washington, D.C.

From June 25 to July 1, attendees will learn the significance of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

The summit is a seven-day, expenses-paid opportunity for outstanding high school sophomores and juniors.
