Founder’s Day on tap

JOLIET — Second Avenue Apostolic Church, 615 Second Ave., will celebrate Founder’s Day in memory of the late Bishop Samuel Allen Sr.

Guest speaker at 11 a.m. Saturday will be Apostle Timothy Stevenson of South Carolina and at 5 p.m. Sunday, Bishop David Maxwell of Michigan.

Support group for women

JOLIET — Women ages 18 and older are invited to participate in a women’s support group.

Topics will range from day-to-day stress, children, education, business, employment, abuse, sex, marriage, singleness and spirituality.

The group will meet at 11 a.m. every Saturday during June and July at St. John M.B. Church. If interested, contact Tracy Theard at 815-727-2019.

Church movie night

LOCKPORT — June movie night will be 6-8 p.m. June 16 at First United Methodist Church.

The movie will be a special Father’s Day showing of “War Horse,” rated PG-13.
