Garage sale days: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8-9, sponsored by Braidwood Fire Sirens. Entry forms available at Ace Hardware, Doc’s Drugs, City Hall, the Braidwood Fire Department and the Braidwood Park District websites and in the Braidwood Journal. Entry forms are due by 6 p.m. June 3.
Tuesday
Holly Club annual spring lawn party: 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 5, Jacob Henry Mansion Estate, 20 S. Eastern Ave., Joliet. The purpose is to honor the patronesses who have faithfully supported Holly Club and the needs of the community for so many years. The event will raise funds and awareness for summer programs that support women and children in need in Joliet. The Holly Club Spring Lawn Party is open to the public. Ladies can enjoy a cocktail or two before lunch while viewing the silent auction items that will be available. Tickets for this year’s Spring Lawn Party are $35 a piece. Touch-a-truck day: 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. June 8, hosted by the Lockport Township Park District for people of all ages at Dellwood Park, at State Street and Woods Drive in Lockport. This is a great event for kids to see and explore all kinds of trucks and large equipment up close. Touch-A-Truck is a free event sponsored by BMO Harris Bank. Braidwood all town garage sale days: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 8-9 rain or shine. Sponsored by the Braidwood Fire Sirens. Maps and sale listings will be available on the day of the sales at First Presbyterian Church on the corner of Main and Lincoln streets in Braidwood. Participating homes will have bright rainbow kite yard markers signifying their participation. The church will also have a garage sale, as well as vendors, a bake sale and a luncheon.
Church yard sale: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8-9 at Faith Lutheran Church, 353 N. Midland Ave., in Joliet. Bargains on furniture, clothing, sports equipment and much more. Strollers welcome.
