This summer, take a break and relax with a ‘parkation’

Updated: July 11, 2012 6:05AM

NEW LENOX — The New Lenox Park District summer programming options provide an affordable way for families to still treat their children to a “parkation” through enrollment in its many summer camps, activities and special events.

“We have seen a positive increase in our recreational programming,” said Shirley Braglia, the superintendent of recreation.

The park district’s Camp Wewannago provides not only a summer fun experience for five days a week, but it also accommodates working parents’ schedules, with early morning and evening hours available for children from first to seventh grade.

One upcoming opportunity that will provide locals families with a true summer experience is the New Lenox Community Park District’s Proud American Days, which will be held from July 26-29.
