Joliet schools start Monday
JOLIET — The first day of school for all Joliet Grade School District students will be Monday.
Any new student and all students entering early childhood, kindergarten or sixth grade are required by the state to have a current physical examination and all required immunizations on file by the first day of school. Students will not be allowed to attend school or register without the appropriate documents.
The Illinois Department of Public Health also requires that all kindergarten, second- and sixth-grade students have a dental examination. In addition, all students enrolling in kindergarten and any student enrolling for the first time in an Illinois school must have an eye examination.
Parents or guardians who still need to enroll a new student must accompany the child to school to complete their registration and present three proofs of residency.
Breakfast and lunch service will begin Monday. Costs are 70 cents for breakfast, $1.25 for lunch and 35 cents for milk purchased separately.
For information, call the J.F. Kennedy Administrative Office at 815-740-3196.
