Study skills seminar

MORRIS — Students at Morris High School are encouraged to attend a study skills seminar.

The program begins with a parent meeting Sept. 10 followed by student sessions from 6-7 p.m. Sept. 17 and 24 and Oct. 1 in Room 136. A second session may be offered from 7-8 p.m. depending on enrollment.

The registration form can be printed from the school website, www.morrishs.org.

The completed form should be submitted to the guidance office by Friday. For information, call 815-941-5336.

Club holding coat drive

MORRIS — The Morris High School Interact Club, in conjunction with the Morris Rotarians, is collecting used men’s and women’s coats for the homeless veterans.

The coat drive will be Friday at the Morris football game. Interact members will collect coats beginning at 4:45 p.m. until after the start of the varsity game.

Anybody who would like to donate but cannot attend the game can call Amy Barr at 217-671-0414.

The coats will be distributed to veterans during StandDown Day on Nov. 9 in Chicago.
