Mentor appreciation
SHOREWOOD — During August, Massage Envy Spa celebrated Member Appreciation Month.
On Tuesdays, the spa donated $5 of every service to the local charity HUGS Shorewood.
Town garage sale
BRACEVILLE — On Oct. 6, Braceville will be the site of its annual all-town garage sale, sponsored by Braceville United Methodist Church.
Maps with sale locations will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the church, Goold and Merrill streets.
Forms to register sales are available at the church, the Braceville post office and at the Braceville Casey’s. Forms must be received at the church office no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 3.

Composter for sale
MORRIS — The Grundy County Environmental and Resource Conservation Office is selling the earth machine composter for $50.

Free family activities
CHANNAHON — September and October are filled with free family events at the Channahon Park District.
Hooray for Heroes is held from 11 a.m. to noon every Thursday at Community Park.
Harvest Fest, formerly known as the Scarecrow and Pumpkin Party, will be 1-3 p.m. Oct. 6 in Central Park.
Also, new for this fall is Into the Night Paranormal from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at Skateland Recreation Center.
The annual Hayride/Campfire will be 6:30-9 p.m. Oct. 26 at Community Park.
Other events include the Channahon Park District Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20 at Skateland Recreation Center; Murder Mystery Dinner Theater for adults 7-10 p.m. Oct. 20 at Arrowhead Community Center; and Halloween Late Skate 7-10 p.m. Oct. 26 at Skateland Recreation Center for ages 10 years and older.
