Church holding giveaway
MINOOKA — Minooka Bible Church announced its annual The Great Church Giveaway from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday.
This annual event is a large garage sale open to the community where everything is free. There will also be free popcorn, and baskets donated by local merchants and church members will be raffled throughout the event for free.
Associate Pastor David Jankowski said the church modeled the event after a similar event in Morris.
“We wanted to discover some more ways for MBC to engage our community in a direct way. After much brainstorming and research, we learned of the Morris Christian Church’s Giveaway. Once we learned the basics, we decided that we could give the idea the MBC special touch, and we did,” Jankowski said.
Last year about 700 people attended and benefited from the giveaway.
Donations will be accepted at the church from 2-8 p.m. Friday.
