Toys for Tots can be dropped at fire stations

Updated: December 29, 2012 6:16AM

The Plainfield Fire Protection District will accept new toy donations for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

Toys may be dropped off at any of four fire stations:

Fire Station One, 14415 S. Coil Plus Drive.

Fire Station Two, 23806 W. 135th St.

Fire Station Three, 25001 W. 119th St.

Fire Station Four, 15930 S. Frederick St.

Toys may also be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the Administration and Training Facility, 23748 W. 135th St.

In order to allow time for sorting, wrapping and distribution of toys by the Toys for Tots Foundation, the last date to donate toys will be Dec. 13.

Donated toys need to be new and in their original packaging; do not gift wrap the toys.

To sign up your child to be a Toys for Tots recipient, send an email to Lt. Claudia Simmons of the Salvation Army at claudia_simmons@usc.salvationarmy.org and type your request in the email message. Include your mailing address and a phone number.
