JOLIET — The Senior Services Center of Will County will hold its March for Meals Campaign “Mardi Gras Cocktail and Silent Auction” kickoff celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. Feb. 12 at Harrah’s Joliet Hotel & Casino.
The Fat Tuesday-themed evening will include cocktails, samples of some classic New Orleans cuisine, a silent auction and a live appearance by The Downtown Charlie Brown Band.
Tickets cost $25 per person.
March for Meals is an annual campaign sponsored by the Meals on Wheels Association of America to stimulate public awareness of the Meals on Wheels program, recruit new volunteers, increase financial support and ensure no senior goes hungry.
There are more than 200 seniors on the waiting list for home-delivered meals.
For reservations or to donate an item toward the silent auction, call 815-723-9713. Contributions can also be mailed to the Senior Services Center, 251 N. Center St., Joliet, IL 60435.
